This ELL Lesson Plan Template was requested by a number of teachers so I’ve included the resource below so that you can download it.
The template includes:
- Content Objectives – These are goals like: Finding the Main Idea, Understanding the Water Cycle, etc.
- Language Objectives – These are goals like: Use the Simple Present Tense to Describe the Water Cycle, Water Cycle Target Vocabulary
- Partners & Small Groups Organization – Small Groups of 3-4 Students Are Recommended
- What Students Will Do to Show Mastery of the Content – We Want to Focus on Specific Actionable Tasks That Show Students Have Mastered the Content: Students Can Describe the Water Cycle to the Teacher Using Target Vocabulary and the Present Tense Correctly in Under 1 Minute
- Lesson Notes – This Section Is for During and After Class to Write Down Which Areas Students Still Need Work on or Which Students Haven’t Completed Work or Other Ideas You Have That You Want to Be Able to Remember for Next Lesson
